Ben McADOO’S FIRST NFL COACHING JOB HAS NOT BEEN A SUCCESSFUL ONE FOR THE NFL.
In the wake of the Pittsburgh Steelers losing to the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LI, McAdoos first NFL head coaching job had been marred by controversy and speculation over the coach’s relationship with Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
But now, with the Steelers winning Super Bowl XLIX, McADoos job is done.
McAdOO told ESPN’s Brett McMurphy on Monday that he has no plans to coach the New York Jets again next season.
McADoo said he was “thrilled” to be named the head coach of the New England Patriots on Tuesday.
“It’s been a great year,” McAduans wife, Nicole McAdau, told reporters during a news conference Monday night.
And I think my experience in New England will help me to do that.” “
I feel like I’m the right person for the job.
And I think my experience in New England will help me to do that.”
McAdoue said he met with Patriots owner Robert Kraft and general manager Tom Brady last week.
Mcadoo said his new team, which will be coached by his former quarterback, will “make the playoffs in a lot of games.”
He said he expects to be in New York for the first game of the season on Jan. 6.
McAnews comments come as McAdoom was in New Orleans on Tuesday to meet with the Saints.
“We’ll see what happens in New Years Day, but it’s a big, big deal for us,” McAnoo said of his new job.
“There’s a lot to celebrate.”
The Jets lost to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in Super.liim, but McAdo’s team did defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the playoffs, giving McAdos job an extra day.
The Jets, who had the league’s worst record in Super bowl LI, lost to Miami and the Seattle Seahawks in Super bowls earlier in the season.
In 2017, Mc Adoo coached the San Diego Chargers, who went 7-9.
